In a couple of weeks The InTune Mother Project is scheduled to celebrate Mother’s Day in a BIG way. Our culturally centered perinatal project wants to offer our guests LOTS (I mean lots) of prizes. This is going to be huge!
Back in October we launched our initiative to add more women of color to the Oklahoma birth work community. We managed to provide two women with textbook scholarships to advance their knowledge in perinatal health. In March we hosted our first BLAB Night and I managed to enroll 6 committed women from the community in our Accessible Doula Training scheduled June 13th -14th, 2016. Two of these women just completed the first week of training with Sista Midwife Productions. We have a deliberate goal in sight for 2020, with our culturally centered perinatal health project, through The Oklahoma Challenge.
In order to gather the support of the community, I reached into my bag of magic, to pull this off. So I wonder what can be done when the community comes to their own aid?
