Growing Up In 2015!

TIME TO SHIFT

Have you just simply outgrown your belief systems, but you’d rather stay in an uncomfortable place? It is okay to learn new ways to think. Most of us have been taught that we can only access 10% of our brain, but what if we began to expand outside of what we have known? Most of us only believe what we have been taught to think, feel, be… etc…

I was told that I had small hips and would not be able to give birth to my oldest son vaginally. Many women are fed that same story line… But my belief was different. I believed the Creator put baby inside me via my husband, whatever the size, baby would figure how to get itself out.

I lived with the thoughts of my own mothers birth horror story for so long, that once I became pregnant, I refused to relive her experience, through my own birth. I wanted to own my experience. So I worked on my vision of birth and I created the exact experience I wanted, and my husband, sacredly held that space for me. With each birth the power became more and more evident. Now together, my husband and I help other families, hold the creative space for the birth experience they want to have.

That is why TIM launched the #HAPPY2015 New Year campaign. We are so much more than a team of hyper focused childbirth consultants. We are professional game changers. And because we know righ now, there is a mental attact on the way childbirth is viewed — We believe NOW is the best time get intune, and to forgive yourself for letting others think for you. This kind of thinking doesn’t even require 10% of the proposed brain power that we are taught we to have access to.

It’s really simple…

Remember when you were a baby, traveling down the birth canal? There was padding an bumpers along the way, so you couldn’t just fall out of the vagina? Remember how safe you were? You were closest with God than any other time in your life. You could not read, nor write, nor were you speaking words —

But now with all the flimsy, plastic, radicalized, sterile, notions of coming into life, and what and how we should believe — Somehow we lost the connection to intute from our true mental environment.

Reality is false.

Time is draining.

And Matter…

Matter is… a fragile, yet tangible system, that many of us have to grow into, yet afraid to put on a size bigger for fear of looking or feeling the awkwardness of falling down.

But one thing is clear as the day that you were born…

One day you will shift. One day you will grow.

–And this growth will either come through wisdom or through woe. Its totally up to what your belief is around who you are that determines how you will birth.

#HAPPY2015

Summation Sunday ~ The Resurrection Of Motherhood

Tearing Down The Old Temple

Let me begin by saying there is no such thing as death. There is only the balance of transition and this is the burning contradiction that breaks the connection between being present and the vulnerability of fulfilling the bodies life purpose. What is no longer useful to the world will pass on into the next dimension and that includes human life. At the pace we live at, stress causes tremendous problems on our nervous system. That is why the breath is so important.  The breath of life is the greatest natural resource know to the human body. It nourishes our cells and tissues, bringing life back into our total being. Simple relaxation and deep breathing stimulates the vibration of the body, thus sealing the needed energy to help reset and rebuild the bodies full potential of mental, emotional, and physical performance. That is why old temples are being torn down. So it is far time that we begin to learn how to rebuild our temples one breath at a time.

From Home-Birthers to Spiritual Entrepreneurs

When my husband and I first decided to have a homebirth, seven years ago, we did not fully understand the process of familial transitions that we were about to undergo. Certain things were about to die… some of those things we were very passionate about. We really did not to plan for the transition from the regular lifestyle, we were accustomed to, so it was not easy. When we thought of traveling, visiting family and friends, or just spending time together, we were with our new baby and we needed more time. This meant that we had to stop making time and start managing our time for social equity. We were newly married, way from our parents, and winging the whole process of parenthood. So we tried to do a zillion things to make good on our commitments… My husband worked in theater and for #WellsFargo at the time and I owned and operated a natural hair salon by day and preformed at local venues by night. When we made up our minds to fully pursue our lives on purpose, we were introduced to abundance. Although this was awesome, we did not account for is the probability of time.

How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?

TRANSITION: Moving On Up To The East Side

After we made the move from the West Coast to the East Coast it was totally derived off of the spirit of our subconscious mind. We wanted to be where the sun rose instead of where it set. We had creative ambitions and felt that we were no longer thriving in the Valley of The Sun. Upon our move, we did not get that deluxe apartment in the sky, but we were in positive motion. Seeing different faces everywhere, tall colorful trees, and in the Spring the ferocious green monster (pollen) would attack our sinus. It was a beautiful shift in culture, experience, and environment. After an emotional miscarriage, with our second baby, prior to our move to Georgia, we knew that we had to come to present, take mental notes, and feel what out bodies were speaking to us. Now after a record total of three successful homebirths, we found our mental niche. Our family tradition became our business. We had a 96% success rate and the other 4% was transitional favor.

Having a strong team working together at the very thing that we do best, which is being creative, making babies, and self expression, became our ministry of expertise. After the epiphany we had with the birth our our last son, we felt charged to assist other women and families, through our learned experiences. We soon embarked on a life of self-directed apprenticeships and disciplines. After studying with various universities, professionals, and coaching methodologies, reading book after book, and still reading, we found something very important — All of the theories were just as experienced based as our concepts and most were around medical reinterpretations. Some were spiritually divine, but still to the writers interpretation. We quickly realized that we had something to offer that we had not yet seen because, we had not yet produced it. So we channeled the balance between what we had experienced, and what we had learned about those experiences, into the services that we offer today called, “The BOSS Method.”

 Re-birthing Mother Nature’s Undisturbed Intent

The simplicity of childbirth is not commonly spoken of as a free, non-medical experience. Majority of the time when we tell people that we homebirth, they start saying things like, “Ut un… you brave”, “You didn’t have no medicine”, “Naw I couldn’t do that.” We smile and reply, why not? Then we get a laundry list of reasons that were really out of lack of information, fear, and/or limited access to information. Most of the reasons were generational jargon passed down from the societal transitions of natural childbirth. Some were because of the idea that homebirth had a hefty expense. Others were because, they simply did not know they had the option to deliver outside of the institution of medicine legally.

Some women share that they would have opted for homebirth if they would have know they could. Some women become frustrated because, they felt the option was hidden from them. Others felt tricked into inductions and surgical birth. This is where it get’s complicated. As I recall my first initial prenatal visit, and I was immediately told, that I would most likely have to deliver surgically because, my hips were so small. That was an immediate red flag for me and I knew that I had to make the decision to birth the way I wanted NOT the way I was profiled. Luckily the desire to Birth Like A BOSS was already in our cards. This is why my husband and I knew that we had to strategically get the word out to the community of those seeking an alternative to what they had been made to believe.

Summonsing Your Own Unique Truth

It really all begins with what you think about childbirth that sets the tone for how you will deliver. But let me get one thing clear… It is not the conscious mind that controls this process, but the subconscious mind that you have to learn how to navigate. The conscious mind is a remarkable thing, but there’s a whole other level of awareness that, when tapped, can greatly expand your abilities and allow you to achieve your goals in childbirth –and in life itself.

The subconscious mind has the ability to change your entire life around, if you know how to use it. Here are 9 steps that my husband and I exercise in order to build up our power of the Universe within and without. This includes thoughts, emotions, actions, and reactions.

STEP 1 : Practice “Stream of Consciousness” Journaling. Get a journal. Pick a nice pen to write with. Set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write whatever comes immediately to mind, continuing writing until the time is up no matter how dull, strange, weird, or whatever it sounds. Although at first this will channel your conscious mind, it will bring up unconscious thoughts. Have patience. Writing, at first, will be difficult but, with practice, becomes rather easy.

STEP 2 : Learn to meditate. There are many methods of meditation but all deal with focusing the mind, quieting it, and allowing you to harness it. Choose whichever appeals to you and be sure to practice daily, if only for a few minutes.

STEP 3 : Learn about the subconscious. The more you learn about the human mind, the more you can use it to enhance your life. Take coursework in psychology. Read The Four Agreements. Pray and/or create positive affirmations.

STEP 4 : Practice positive self talk. If you say to yourself, “I can’t do this, I’m going to fail,” you will fail. However, if you say, “I can do this. I know I can!,” you’re more likely to succeed. This process is known as “affirmation“.

STEP 5 : Visualize. This is one of the most significant keys to success. Actively picturing yourself achieving a goal will help you actually achieve it.

STEP 6 : Study briefly just before bedtime. This is especially helpful for things that require memorization. If you review the development of your baby, your positive words vocabulary list, or your homebirth play book just before sleeping, your subconscious will likely process it throughout the night for you.

STEP 7 : Pay attention to your dreams. Your deeper mind will sometimes try to sort out your life issues through dreams. If you pay attention to them, write them down immediately, and reflect on it, you may get insight to the problem at hand and this can help your transition though that particular issue.

STEP 8 : Listen to your intuition. Your intuition is a way your mind has of warning you of dangers or enlightening you to opportunities before your conscious mind has all the information. If you get a “red flag” feeling about a person or situation, do listen. This is often a key step in avoiding tragic opposition.

STEP 9 : Use different methods to develop your subconscious mind. Guessing things will help a lot. Just try to listen to your intuition and make predictions. Use different tools, for example Lumosity offers brain stimulating games and other cool mind enhancement tools. This also opens subconscious parts of your mind.

CONCLUDING THOUGHT

Any negative thoughts that you come up with should be removed, or replaced IMMEDIATELY. These negative thoughts are blocks on your subconscious and they prevent you from getting what you want. Negative thoughts are tied to strongly held beliefs – which further limit your success that are born out of fear. This combination of negative thinking and limiting beliefs lead to opposition and failure. The longer you hang on to them the worse your situation gets.

So what do you do?

BOSS Up! Change your mind, surrounding attitude NOW! Get rid of the mental baggage as quickly as possible.

Create thoughts that empower you, thoughts that allow you to succeed and enjoy your now life.

Negative thoughts and negative beliefs create a negative a life. They destroy any chance of successful outcomes.

You cannot succeed and enjoy life with chronic negative thinking or being around people who entertain negativity in any way. They are energy suckers.

Remember, your subconscious mind follows your thoughts and beliefs. It sees them as instructions and simply follows them. It creates your life based on your thoughts and beliefs. Your life is really a mirror of your thoughts and beliefs.

Transitioning Through A Crisis

Maternal Health In The USA Fails The American Family

No matter how far we believe we have come, we have to identify with the issues at hand here in America, as it relates to maternal mortality and infant death. As I worked this weekend, drafting new content and a more positive branding structure for the TIM (The InTune Mother) website, I had an epiphany. We need to keep positive stories as it relates to maternal and infant health on the forefront. This is part of a beta test that we launched to show people how powerful the media is as it relates to how we feel about the mentioned subject. But I have to be real. Maternal and infant death is why we are here (on this website). We are driving awareness to this issue because, if we don’t confront these issues head on… Looking at the root of the problems… With a clear lens… Then we won’t find a viable solution. As I woke up this morning, with my husband at my feet, my youngest son at my breast, and my middle son snuggled on the edge of the bed, with his fluffy dog pillow, I was filled with tears of gratitude. There is something unique about my life. This is not to say that other families are not unique in their own way — I just see the beauty in being a part of the majority and not the minority, of those families who woke up feeling defeated and displaced. To the mother of a child who didn’t wake up this morning because, she passed after giving birth to her new baby.  Or the family grieving the loss of the much anticipated newcomer who was stillborn at 39 weeks. Lastly for the baby who didn’t make it to his/her first birthday because, the environment wasn’t conducive to a thriving family lifestyle. And this is a majority issue to a minority people, but it’s actually the opposite. This is a minority issue, to a majority people, and majority of these people are transitioning through a crisis. When this is taking place in the community, it makes the U.S. look like a third world developing country, NOT AMERICA. If you look at the diagram below you’ll see exactly what I mean. Maternal Mortality USA

Maternal Health Care Has Bad Karma In The US

When I got out of bed, I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I sat down in front of the computer to check my email and Facebook inbox for pertinent notifications… Only to find an article by the Huffington Post (read more here), and see what you see above this paragraph. It’s sad that the United States is number 7 out of 10 other countries and has a 1.7% increased in the rank of maternal mortality. This should not be a shocking thing. When you look at the lineup of how other countries are progressing, I can’t do anything, but be driven down into my spirit and insight about bad karma for the United States. I say this because, when you look at the other countries; Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Chad to name a few, you know these are heavily war ridden populations. And it bothers me that we would be in the running with these countries, who are not as developed,  and we (Americans) a thriving, technology driven country, are still poorly ranking, with these specific numbers in our diverse populations. This tells us something very very deep. It tells us… when we see places like Romania, Poland, and Albania even Morocco having decreased its maternal mortality rate, it tells us something very important… It tells us that we’re just placing our resources and cosmic energy in the wrong place. This universal energy is abundant and full of endless possibilities, including self preservation. It is no secret to the solution here. We know that education has always been the key to successful developments in time. Yet now misuse of this energy is showing its face and “Houston we have a big problem!” I won’t go into the history of our ancestors from South Africa, to West and East Africa, to the West Indies, and South America. I won’t go into those places within this blog post. But what I will say is that in order for us to see a solution and to break the karmic past of the United States, as it relates to this maternal mortality rate… Specifically within the African-American population we have to speak the truth.

There has to be a driving force here and it has to be filled, with deliberate and strategic ideas, around how to fix things.  I believe the way to creating this solution is sitting right in front of our faces. Don’t let this data get twisted up. There is probably going to be a higher spike in the numbers yet because, with better reporting and tracking applications, we will see a great difference. In hopes that the determining information is building bridges for more innovative strategies. For instance, by returning to nature, we allow fresh perspectives to be introduced to the public eye. But, when you have a society that refutes nature, and that talks against nature… and everything is so medical and scientific… We miss the ball. We miss the opportunity to eradicate these different types of disparities, within the culture of maternal health. This is about primary care for all, or better yet human rights (period). I study with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and when you think about what Primary Healthcare For All means, it’s declaration is about preserving humanities well being, starting with proper health care. If anything, the care women receive here in the states is so shabby because, we don’t have the two very most dynamic pieces of the maternal puzzle working together. We have medical vs. political vs. humanity and then what we end up having is; different types of disparities that were unable to be maneuvered into a solid solution because, the minds are geared towards social experimentation, new technologies, new ways to utilize instruments (toys) versus following the mind of nature drawing off of the karma of what has always been… Or “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

The Mental Mentality Behind Maternal Health

“Mind your matter” is the biggest message that we’ve always said to families that we service here at TIM.  One other finite perspective we pride ourselves in here at The InTune Mother Project  is that there is usually no physician in attendance to help you (mother/father) learn the act of lovemaking. It was a natural and consensual process 90% of the time.  Which in turn implanted that child into the womb of the mother… so why should there be the need of physician assistance to extract or remove a child from it’s mother’s womb, when there is no serious reason to do so.  In America right now, the cesarean rate is at 32.8%. When we look at this clearly, the maternal and infant death rate doubling and tripling in the populations here and abroad, what are we really arguing and debating over? Is it money or the idea of childbirth being a natural event versus a medical event? So then I’d say we’re causing ourselves more harm than good because, simply put, there is no solution that lives in the research money you spend on commonwealth education. Starting with effective ideas around what is being done right, instead of what certain populations lack or are in need of is the one way to be effective. Ever watched a cat give birth, or a dog, or any other animal in the wild? There’s no one there to interrupt the system or massage human, domesticated concepts into the life force energy of that well equipped creature. In itself and I’m humbly speaking that the more we identify with the problems from suggestive entities, lying down the ground rules inside the minds of those controlling “We The People,” then the populations mental faculties surrounding the natural and holistic body of successful health and wellness, will continue to see faltering in the human population.  I’m not sorry for seeking deliberate therapy and equally just access for those who know not.  There is nothing that can be done or that will be done, if we do not create programs that speak to the reality of these issues.  There will only be more disparities, more works toward balancing faulty mental energy, until we learn to go where the love is. Following and loving, piece by piece. This is found when humanity takes hold of the foundation of what we know we have, and that is a voice. There is an amazing quote by Jim Rohn that says,

“Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know.”

The beauty of effective communication is 20% of what you know and is just your learned concept… and the other 80% of how you feel about what you know is based on how confident you are of what you learned to trust as true or false. Here is an example: You’re pregnant. 20% of this information you know as truth.. Whether you took a test at home or found out from your practitioner, you know that you’re pregnant. Now the real cookie here is about how you feel now that you know your pregnant. Do those same anxious thoughts come to mind that most women have? You plan to go to the hospital, They may play the money card and fill your head with this statement, ” You’re a small woman and most women your size have complicated deliveries”. And this is where we have to get a serious action plan.  These physicians actually tell these new moms things that spike stress levels and create hypertension, nor do they advise women of alternatives outside of prescriptions or nutritional value, for prenatal health, and they seldom work with Midwives & Doulas due to inferiority complexes in the male dominated field of obstetrics.

CONCLUSION

If these women do not have the right information as to who can help them give birth successfully, then I’m not so sure that traditional methods of childbirth will rise, with little or no support to their education. And giving them a very basic education is such a slap in the face. What should they have to learn you might ask? People need to be educated by people that look like them first! The more and more were able to educate people from a communal standpoint, the more we are able to identify with the problems at hand, and create valuable solutions. There is no way to look at every woman’s body as a one-stop shop or SRX-Model. These are human beings and we have to get out of that sick state of mind and broken mentality that everybody is created the same way. Yes! Every woman has a vagina, with her very own uniqueness about her vagina, it is actually her fingerprint in childbirth. No vagina is the same. Ask the men who sleep with random women and they’ll tell you that. There’s no identical aspects in relation to the promise that every woman’s pelvis is also unique, so we have to treat it that way. This simple idea has been oppressively used by those who prey on the weak, when they take away a woman’s right to identify with her own bodily forces.  They are obstructing her ability to charge forward, within her responsibility by convincing her that  letting go of her power is right and exact. This is almost as bad as rape and being taken advantage of because they are mentally stripping her of what she’s capable of doing innately by herself, and that is protecting herself and her young. So by telling her to resist herself, this is the reason why we’re losing so many women, and so many babies to Deadly Deliveries because, too many don’t want to see women giving birth the way that mother nature intended. To many want to disturb nature in every way that they can, to research, pick, and probe to get information that is unnecessary for human evolution. It’s so simple, Dr. Bradley speaks of this highly ~ If you just watch nature you’ll get the research, you’ll get the information, you’ll get your solutions. but then again, it all begins with the key component and that is the power of effective communication. When you have blockages in your communication, you’ll find disparities at every turn… Can you hear Mother Nature crying for her children?

MELs (Men of Extraordinary Leadership): “Father Figure”

What it means to fulfill the role of a father… delivered in poem:

Father father did you ever figure

that you could ever fulfill this figure.

The complete image that the Most High Father made

standing engulfed in flesh on this very day.                                                                               father figure

A day that was written upon your very own inception

your time to bring forth life

call it a ‘Creator’s Induction’.

See the Most High made us all to be as he,

to unite with Mother Earth

through an eternal seed.

To continue a cycle never to be broken

rebirthing our existence

keeping eternities gates open.

Never slight for a second

the importance of your involvement

for strength is in numbers

unity is detrimental to evolving.

The backbone you provide for the stature of your family

is what God does for all creations

from trees to insects to all of humanity.

So continue to encourage and lift up your mate,

for without that divine connection

you cannot divinely create.

This is your most important deed the finest hat that you can bere.

You are now crowned FATHER FIGURE

you were chosen to be here.

MELs (Men of Extraordinary Leadership): “A Knight In Shining Armor”

A man has endless opportunities to encounter elevation of  his being in a lifetime… The opportunity to completely involve himself ~from conception, through birth, and on into the life and creation of his families seed may very well be the most empowering and rewarding encounter!

The time of birth is one of the most opportune times for a man and a woman to share creation that only the two of them together could have made. A time when seeing the physical manifestation of what you two can do together truly overshadows any indifference that you may have shared prior to or after this moment. A woman can look at her man and see the strength and security that he gives her; the protection she feels giving her reason for recreating him, eternal life that only she could grant her mate (THIS child). A man can look at his woman and see the magnanimity that a woman has when she is one with nature, a respect for the vessel that she was made to be in delivering life… the worlds greatest gift to them… creation!

Seeing your child born in the proper environment has the ability to make you view every woman you know and meet with a purpose for being… and raise the question of why doesn’t every couple or family get to feel this very super-heroesque empowerment that comes along with this experience. The answer to that is very complex, but also very simple. The evolution that comes with having children can make or break the strongest of spirits. I’ve seen the most irresponsible people become model parents once they paused the chaos and really divulged themselves into the change that was embarking on their lives and focused on the empowerment that creating life can provide one with. Unfortunately, I’ve seen the exact opposite a very strong spirit broken down and beaten because they fought against the change and wanted to hold on to their old selves in ways that conflicted even though they knew the value of what evolution of creating life can do for one’s being. Childbirth is probably the biggest life altering event that a person can go through, this is why when the village(family) is a strong unit the pregnancy and birth itself can yield a renewing  of spirit and soul that is almost impossible to duplicate. The most invigorated  of the family will of course be the creators ‘Mom and Dad’.

Creating life and contributing to the existence of our species is one of the highest forms of living in the image of ‘The Most High… God’ our creator that we can accomplish. ~ VoiceMEL

Mother Earth

As the Father of all creation implants the seed of all that lives into Mother Earth, and watches the seed grow into whatever it was meant to become… on goes the existence of all living things on this planet (as well as I’m sure the universe  for that matter, but that’s to be con’t in a different blog…). This is the same exhilaration that parents should be able to become one with. As the males(MELs)  in this dynamic event it becomes our responsibility in a sense to make sure that this happens. The power that men have in the birth may not seem like much when thinking on it physically or even mentally by what history teaches us on our position or role in this process. In all actuality the typical role that the male has been given could not be more inaccurate from what helps the process of childbirth to be a beautiful memory/experience. The old school wait in the waiting room pacing the floor or the focal point of hate and frustration that the mother belittles and abuses with fault for doing this to her, is quickly becoming extinct. A great article that I recently read covered this subject matter extensively at belly belly.com … check it out!

Men are becoming more aware and knowledgeable about what their encouragement and support can mean to their women  when preparing for the birth and going through the whole process together. A woman will naturally feel a certain type of appreciation to the person who held their hand and encouraged them through surges or labour pains. Even the little things like giving ice chips or messages when and where they are needed can go a long way for the comfort of the mother… who better to be the recipient of her appreciation than her mate. Dr. Robert A. Bradley author of ” Husband-Coached Childbirth” creator of The Bradley Method of natural childbirth, was known for being one of (if not) the first physicians in a hospital to implement these tactics as he also introduced natural drug-free childbirth into the hospitals.  This type of good nature was not back then in the 70’s and still to this day of common practice, but the more knowledge that the family has the more power.

Like for instance, a father signs a form in the midst of all that lovely paperwork that is given to a family when having a baby at the hospital that says he will make the decisions in the delivery room because the mother will be in a delusional state of mind because of the drugs. In which of course she signs the form waiving her rights at that time as well. The part that makes this go bad is when the father is not made aware of all the power that he has in saying what happens and what doesn’t, usually due to the lack of education on the whole process of the birth. What I will say to solve these issues is study together and separately, gather all the knowledge you can about this process and make a birth plan… most of all stick to the plan.

Homebirthing was the option that allowed my family to be (without conflict) in control of our choices and carry-out our births as we planned them…

It wasn’t a common practice at all in either of our families to birth at home, in fact barely anyone that we knew had ever even thought about doing it. After a few terrible Doctor visits with our first pregnancy and the research that we performed was at a confident level we made the homebirth decision and continued to build our ideal birth as we saw fit. The studying was  more driven by the Mrs of course, but I was all in willing to learn all that I could as well as share with her anything that I found would add value to our knowledge. We created our birth chamber together, went to the hypnobirthing classes together, all the midwife visits together, and really focused on the task at hand together… I wanted mine to know that I would be prepared to the fullest and that she could count on me the whole way for whatever she needed. This carried us on to be able to deliver our second and third sons without medical assistance( also another blog soon to come… Lol).

Preparation is the key, and men we have to know that the preparation is as much on us as it is on the woman… Making her assured of this and confident that you will be all the support and reassurance she needs before, during, and after the birth will set smooths sails going in and coming out… Be her knight in shining armor, now if no other time in life… and guaranteed  your family will reap the treasure of your acts.

When we identify with the natural process of love and the divinity of childbirth, we connect with the realization of our social powers. We can bring value to the collective communal aspects of our voices. What you believe is what becomes, and if you make love to ALL that you do… You produce the hottest flame… That is pure blue-violet (purple) in hue. Understanding each and everyone of us began as a simple blood clot. Least we understand the beauty of our purpose is to become free in the will of our minds and disciplined within the yearnings of our hearts. This is how we Birth Like A BOSS. This is how we give birth to Gods.

P.S. In the meantime…

Our Moment Of Truth

The InTune Mother Project Wants Normal, Healthy Childbirth for Women & Families

According to research from the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), many women are not having important conversations with their healthcare providers about how to maintain their health during pregnancy (62%) or about preparing for motherhood (80%). In fact, ACNM’s survey shows a major gap in what women say they want from their healthcare and what women are getting across a spectrum of health needs.

To improve the dialogue, The InTune Mother Project is excited to support Our Moment of Truth™: A New Understanding of Midwifery Care. Through this national campaign, ACNM aims to raise the bar for women’s health and re-introduce midwives and midwifery care as important options that should be the norm for women’s health care services in the United States.

Midwives are critically important in providing care to women from adolescence to beyond menopause, but their expert knowledge of women’s health is often overlooked. Even though the general public often associates midwives exclusively with maternity care, many women visit a midwife for a range of services before and after pregnancy. This is just one of the many facts that Our Moment of Truth™ aims to share.

The InTune Mother Project has already begun to spread the word by: sharing our story; posting information on our social media channels; and taking the Your Health Promise pledge at www.ourmomentoftruth.com. We hope that you too will consider getting involved in this important initiative to inspire women across the country to become active decision makers in their health care.

Visit the Our Moment of Truth™ Web site for more information and an overview of survey findings. Or leave a comment to share your moment of truth related to women’s health care and/or midwifery.
